How does a Class work?
Each Class features a specific painting that our Artist will teach you how to paint step-by-step. Classes last two to three hours given the complexity of the painting. Throughout the Class, you’ll listen to inspiring tunes, eat and drink whenever you’d like, and have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the talent in the room. By the time Class ends, you’ll be leaving with your own completed masterpiece.

Class Preparation


What do I need to bring?
Just yourself. We provide the canvas, easel, brushes, paint, and apron.


What if the Class is designated BYO food and/or drink?
Please bring along any food and/or drinks you would like to enjoy during the Class.

What if the Class is not BYO?
The venue will have food and drinks available for you to purchase at your discretion at prices set by the venue and not by Cabernet & Canvas. Therefore, you are not permitted to bring in your own food and drinks. Cabernet & Canvas does not sell or supply alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages or food.

Can I save the food voucher included in my ticket price (where applicable) and use it on another day?

Sorry, no, any food or drink included in your ticket price must be redeemed from the venue during your specified event time. Any unused vouchers or tokens expire at the end of your painting session and the venue has no obligation to honour these at a later date.

What should I wear?
There is no dress code and aprons are provided. When acrylic paint dries, it does not come out of clothing so please wear something you feel comfortable painting in.

What time do I need to arrive for Class?
Doors open 30 minutes beforehand to allow time to mingle before the painting starts. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early to get checked in and settled as Class starts on time.

I am running late to my Class. Can I still come?
Yes; however, please be advised that the Class starts on time and it is not feasible for our Artists to spend one-on-one time with you to cover what you missed.

Are your venues wheelchair accessible?

While there is access for wheelchairs at some of our venues, unfortunately, at this stage a number of our venues are heritage listed and are therefore not required to have wheelchair accessibility. What To Expect During The Class


What size canvas do you use?
We paint on a 40 x 50 cm stretched canvas.

I’m not artistic. Will I be able to complete my painting?
Yes! Our Artist will guide you through every step of the painting and ensure you’re on course to leave the Class with a completed work of art. Acrylic paint dries quickly, making mistakes easy to fix and perfect.

I have previous painting experience. Are the Classes strictly for beginners?
No, some participants come to the Classes because it provides easy access to painting supplies and there’s no long-term commitment. Advanced painters are encouraged to wander off the beaten path and take the painting to wherever their creativity is calling.

Will my painting be ready to take home by the end of Class?
Yes, we have specifically designed the Class so that your painting will be completed in the time allowed. Acrylic paint dries quickly.

Registration
 

Is there an age limit for the Classes?

Yes. Painters who are 13 to 17 years of age must be accompanied by their parent/guardian in order to attend Public Classes.  You must be 18 years of age or older to consume alcohol.


Are walk-ins welcome?
Sorry, no, unless you've received prior authorisation from Cabernet & Canvas. As a mobile company we only transport enough materials to each event to cover the bookings we've received.

Why do you take photos during events?
We use photos from our events for advertising and marketing purposes. By clicking on the Submit Order button, you confirm that you 1) grant to Cabernet & Canvas, the right to take photographs of you in connection with Cabernet & Canvas events; 2) authorize Cabernet & Canvas, its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically; and 3) agree that Cabernet & Canvas may use such photographs of you with or without your name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and Web content.

Do you ever share my contact details with 3rd parties?
No. If you registered for our monthly eNewsletter, then we only use your email address to send you news from Cabernet & Canvas regarding new classes, special offers, and discounts.

Is there reserved seating?
Yes, we will have a designated spot set up for you prior to your arrival. If you know others attending the class with whom you would like to sit by, you can let us know when you book the Class, or email ella@cabernetandcanvas.com.au with at least 24 hours advance notice.

 

Can I get a refund if I can't make it to a public class?

Individual and small group bookings: You may cancel your booking, and receive a refund or class credit, with up to 24 hours notice. Should you need to reschedule within the 24 hours prior to class, please note our $15 rebooking fee. As we have limited seating available, “no call, no shows” will be charged the full amount without refund.

Groups of 8 or more: one week notice is required for any booking or seat cancellation. Canceling seats within one week of your booked event will result in a $15 per seat cancellation fee. Groups of 15 or more: two week notice is required.
