Ella has been an artist with Cabernet & Canvas since January 2013 and is now the owner of the business. She completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Painting at the South Australian School of Art in 2004 and followed that up with a Bachelor of Education in 2006. Ella's artistic work ranges from abstract figurative work to landscapes and small details and she also has experience working on large scale murals with school children.
Shanila Samarasinghe (nee De Alwis)
Shanila is a graduate in Fine Art from the Malaysian Institute of Art in Malaysia where she was awarded a gold medal for the best Fine Art student of 2003. Shanila is a professional artist who has participated in many exhibitions and is also an experienced high school Art teacher specialising in the teaching of IGCSE Edexcel Art. She currently works as a Senior Art Instructor at Art Therapy Centres in Perth.
Art has been the largest inspiration in Shanila's life, giving her an immense sense of satisfaction. For Shanila, painting is not only a way to express her artistic talents; it is also a form of meditation and relaxation. Her art has been appreciated by a wide audience, including private collectors and leading organizations, both local and foreign.
Maria graduated from the Props and Scenery course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, receiving the top award for her graduating class. She currently works as a freelance set designer and constructor, having worked for Perth Fringe Festival and Perth International Arts Festival. She also works as a visual artist specialising in airbrushing, mainly focusing on portraiture.
Michelle Naumovski is a Perth based artist who studied Digital Design at Curtin University. She produces both Digital and Traditional art and often mixed media pieces. Her work includes commercial design, comic books, drawings, paintings, sculptures and mural work. She is the writer and illustrator of the independently published comic book series ‘Pyro’, which follows a group of borderline misfits that sink into the life of a fresh faced psychiatrist living in New York City. Other comics created by Michelle include ‘Palooza’, and ‘Barfaerians’, which have been exhibited at Perth Supanova Pop-culture Exposition in 2014 and 2015.
Jaccie is a Fine Art graduate from Curtin University (2015) who was also a part of the Special Art Program at Applecross Senior Highschool. She has worked for or been involved with the Fremantle Arts Centre Print award; Sculptures by the Sea, Cottosloe; and Propel Youth Arts. She enjoys working at arts events and meeting like- minded people.
